Participatory processes for developing a municipal website: welcome to the sense of belonging

March 6, 2024

City councils that use participatory processes, also known as “co-design,” know that this tool is very powerful for generating a sense of belonging among citizens.
Citizens who participate in these processes feel heard, taken into account, and valued by the city council.

The city council, in turn, learns firsthand about the true needs of the population and has the opportunity to reflect them on its website or in any of the actions it develops through a participatory process.
At Angelgráfico, we develop websites using these processes, which we consider enriching and very valuable for all parties.

But it’s not just the city council and citizens who benefit; the developers and designers on our team are also enriched by this teamwork. And what’s more, the final product, of course, provides great value to users, as it is developed through active listening, consensus, and empathy.

In our studio, we have carried out multiple projects developed using this “co-design” system. One of the systems used is a website where we manage and report on all the municipality’s participatory processes, where surveys can be generated, and where citizens can provide their opinions and participate in the development of major municipal projects.

In addition, to develop any municipal project, we also organize participatory design courses, through which citizens participate and have input in the development of any public initiative, not only the development of the website, but also any initiative in which the public is to be involved.

And although this type of process is typically used more by public institutions, it can also be a powerful tool for a company that values team cohesion and considers people its main asset and greatest value.

If you would like to learn how it works and discover the significant benefits it can bring you, please contact us. We would be delighted to meet and assist you.
